As defined by Wikipedia:
A blog is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.
Why should my company have a Blog?
- Share your expertise and become a regular resource for trends in your industry.
- Search Engines LOVE blogs because the content is constantly changing.
- You can have a subscribe option so that interested visitors can get notified when you post.
- Visitors can post comments on each post. Great way to get feedback but make SURE you respond to every comment contributed on your blog. Burning a blog bridge is very bad blogging business.
- You can answer frequently asked questions. If you get many of the same questions over and over again, you can answer these questions on your blog.
- The cost of blogging is very low. It may be the cheapest form of advertising you will ever do but it’s success depends solely on your dedication to adding fresh content. We suggest at least 2 blogs a week but suggest a blog a day!
- Creating word-of-mouth and buzz about your business. Try to keep your blogging informational and conversational. A blog should be used to educate and entertain your visitors, not to advertise your service or product.
- A blog is another great way to drive traffic to your company website.
We could go on and on about the benefits of owning your very own company blog but we want to hear what you have to say!
